K-9

This member of the armed forces, along with his German Shepherd, visited my American history classroom one day to speak of the courageous dogs that aided our military during the Vietnam War. As I recall, approximately 3,000 dogs were called to active duty during the war years. This particular dog, too young to have participated in the Vietnam conflict, is, however, a direct descendant of a dog that did serve during that war.

Swamp Buggy

This is "hand made." Cost? Suggested $30-40,000 USD. It's great for riding around the swamps of south Florida; even the Everglades.

We will be out-of-pocket for a few days, so blogging and commenting will be sporadic at best. We wish everyone a wonderful week and a very Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate The Day of the Turkey.

Dr. James Duke's favorite skeleton wearing the helmet of his favorite team...

...the Univ. of Florida Gators! And just in time for Halloween!

(Please note this guy was hard to catch. I finally cornered him but he got injured in the melee, thus the bandage on his arm.)
