Directions on a golf course

This photo was taken at an Ocala area golf course; not Stone Creek.

For those of you who have never played golf, most golf courses consist of 18 holes and they are divided between the "front" nine and the "back" nine. Sometimes, if a course is very crowded and the front nine is backed up, the pro in charge will send you off on number 10. I don't like that because it messes up my need to do things in an orderly manner. You should start on the first tee, not number 10!

It happens that on this particular course the first tee and the 10th tee are a fair distance apart in opposite directions, so the people in charge put up a sign indicating which way to go as you leave the clubhouse. If you're heading to the first tee, you go left and if you're going to the 10th tee, you go right.

Those instructions are not too difficult, right? So, tell me why I turned right and headed for the 10th tee when I was supposed to be, at that moment, on tee box #1?

I dunno. It could be I'm just getting old but I don't think that's the problem. The problem is I've never been very good at taking directions and I ain't gonna start now!

That's one advantage to aging...you can say what you feel like and everyone else can go jump off a bridge. : )

A giant moth was likely covering the 0. That's why you didn't see it, which caused you to turn the wrong way. Uh-huh, that was it. :-)
